Third Grade Art Lesson 7
Tissue Paper Collage, Part 3 Completing Our Collage
Objective:
The student will complete their tissue paper collage by using ink to delineate their leaves.
Materials:
Finished tissue paper collage, permanent markers
Procedure:
The students may need to look at their leaves once again and observe the line patterns. To complete their collage, they will need to outline the edges of the leaves as well as drawing off the veins within each leaf. Typically the students will outline quickly the edge of the leaf, leaving a thin line. Encourage the students to remember the types of lines we used on their name design, and suggest they use what they know about line variation. This principle goes for the veins as well. Discourage students from rushing through this process to complete the work
Conclusion:
Once all lines have been delineated, have the students share their work with each other and make positive comments about each other's work. Mount work on white posterboard and post for school to enjoy.
