- primary pencils for drawing
- tempera paint (red, yellow, blue, white and black)
- Paint brushes ( A variety of brush sizes can be purchased more economically than buying individual sizes and can be bought in value packs that can serve several classrooms).
- White drawing paper (it's cheaper to buy 18 x 24 reams of white drawing paper and cut it as you need it if you have a paper cutter that will accommodate that size. If you do not have a paper cutter that large just buy 12 x 18 white drawing paper which can be cut in half on a smaller cutter)
- Manila paper (buying tip is the same as for white paper)
- A variety of color construction paper (again, it is best to buy 12 x 18 packages of single colors and cut it as needed to 9 x 12 or 6 x 9)
